Our Healing Quilts

One year ago two quilts were presented, one to a Vietnam Vet leaving the psychiatric ward and another given to the chaplin for his brother. His brother said he would refuse anything given to him - he has suffered greatly from PTSD - spending more time within himself than without.

This morning I received a call from that man. He thanked us and told me it changed his life. He asked me for a personal favor. His buddy, also a Vietnam infantryman, lives in Texas. He has carried some insignia's and memorabilia all these years. He asked me if I could incorporate them into a QOV and send it to his buddy. This is a no-brainer. As soon as he brings them to me, I will start the quilt.

I look forward to meeting this man and giving him a hug. Welcome home, soldier, welcome home!
