BONAIRE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - Third graders at Hilltop Elementary honored active and veteran servicemen on Thursday by giving each of them a handmade quilt featuring patriotic squares they created.
It is a hug from a small patriot and a quilt.

"Just about the time you think the kids here lost their respect for the military and they really don't care for the country, something like this comes along and really puts a warm feeling in your heart," retired Colonel Craig Lightfoot with the U.S. Air Force said.

Inspiration!!!

I recently met a fellow QOV'er - you just have to love the magic of the internet.!!

She made a gorgeous Quilt of Valor and I was very intrigued by her story... so instead of re-telling it - She graciously posted her story on her blog  http://gloriouscreations.blogspot.com/2013/05/quilt-of-valor.html

Quilt of Valor - made by Gloria Barnholtz

Sewing at the Lincoln Bernina Store

Twice a year, the Lincoln, NE Bernina store invites quilters into the store for a QOV sew-in. About 16 quilters converge on the store and spend the day sewing, chatting and snacking. Enjoy our pictures of our most recent sew-in day.
