Region 6: We have our next sew-in on Tuesday and we are expecting Pam, my contact person from Great Lakes along with the Captain's wife to come and sew with us (this is a first)!
We will be giving them approximately 50 QOV's for their RWW Program in Louisville, KY in April.
I also got a call from an Army recruiter, whom I met at the Veterans' Day Celebration this past November at a local high school, who wanted to know when our next sew-in was. Asked him, so you're going to come and sew with us! He said, I don't know about that, but I can lift---have NO idea what I'll have him doing, but we can teach him to press!
Plans are in the works for the Sewing Expo in Schaumburg, IL March 22-24. We've been in contact with Harlem Sewing Center, Chicago, a Juki Sewing machine Co., who is providing the machines for our sit-and-sew area.
Got a nice fabric donation from this company as well, so we're going to be cutting strips for our project at a "cut-in" March 9. Also heard of a veteran whom we are going to surprise on Friday, March 23rd afternoon with a QOV presentation.
so, busy, busy, month for us!
